B.A.S.S. names Dave Mercer Elite emcee
Written by Dave Mercer on December 3, 2010
For those of you that follow me on Facebook & Twitter (If you don’t you should) you know I have been teasing the fact that I have some really big news coming up. Well, yesterday around 3:30 in the afternoon my big secret was shared with the fishing world via bassmaster.com. Since that moment my phone has not stopped ringing and I think it is just now starting to sink in how big this is. First, I want to thank everyone for all the kind words and messages that you have left me, it means so much to me to have all of your support. This is a life-long dream of mine and I am still amazed and in awe that I really got this job. If you ask me it does not get any bigger than this in the fishing world. This is truly the equivalent of a comic getting to host The Tonight Show or a football commentator hosting Monday Night Football.
I think everyone has that one HUGE dream of doing something but it almost seems way to big to even tell people about and it’s so big you never ever even really think it’s going to happen. Well, this is mine. Thank you Jerry McKinnis and the whole B.A.S.S team for having faith in me to give me this unbelievable opportunity of a lifetime.
Now I guess all that is left to do is me to report to my first day at the office which will be at the New Orleans Arena in front of 20,000 screaming Bassmaster Classic fans and broadcast to over 100 million homes on ESPN 2!!!! I think I have to go throw up now lol
